Services/Costs

At Cottage Recordings we provide demo level recordings for clients to demonstrate their music. We don’t compete with professional high end recording studios however the quality of our recordings is high enough to produce a CD that can be sold at gigs or given to venues to secure work.  Samples of our work can be found here.

We charge a flat $30.00 per hour for all services. These include recording and mixing/mastering using our equipment.  Some guitar parts can also be provided if needed at these same costs.

We can also provide a ‘producer’ role if requested.  This role gives advice on the music such as what should be emphasized, what type of sound to aim for, what instruments to use and it can even extend to advice on song structure, tempo and layout of a song’s components. There is no additional charge for this service as it is covered in the hourly rate for the time taken.

I recently recorded two songs for a client – a male singer songwriter – singing with an acoustic guitar. I added some guitar work to one of those tracks and the total cost came to $90.00.

We provide the finished work in CD format plus as mp3 files.

Packages involving multiple songs can be arranged if preferred.

There is a local company – Action AV – we have used to produce albums – ie duplicating and producing covers and associated artwork.
